THE DECISION IS UP TO YOU

In this editorial I wanted to open a space to a wonderful experience I had when attending the 'Roots and Freedom' workshop, conducted by Valeriano Tobón, whom I could describe in five words: wisdom, sensitivity, awareness, love and strength. He has been a therapist at the service of the "Medicine for the Soul" for many years and has the gift of seeing the origins and roots of the disease, seeing beyond the physical, which is seeing the soul of people in his consultations and workshops.Being with

Valeriano for two Saturdays in a row is scrutinizing myself, going deep inside myself and finding that I am a blessed woman, but it is also seeing myself without a filter, observing myself, evaluating myself and knowing that the tools and information I receive in that space, It is an immense responsibility towards God and towards myself.
It is reaffirming that the most important thing in my life after God is myself. But even more incredible is having managed to see how when I give my affections to the other (that is, when I give away my life project), I stop being the empowered Mayra, happy and aware of how wonderful my life is.

In these workshops I learned that inner work has to be done everyday, that the key is to be aware of every second, every moment of my life. Not getting caught up in other people's processes, not even those of my children or my family. This has allowed me to free myself from the burdens that I imposed on myself and I finally managed to let go of the guilt.

Today I want to tell you who you are reading me, that you must take advantage of your life, that there is nothing greater than loving yourself with responsibility, to make the changes you need and the results are the best. The decision is up to you, only you can do it for yourself. Nobody can do the work that you have to do. Rescue yourself whenever necessary.

Knowing Valeriano Tobón has contributed so much to my life that I asked him to have him in the Actual Magazine. He agreed and we sat on the balcony one morning for an unforgettable interview. Interviewing a character like him is a gift from heaven and a privilege for me. Today I give infinite thanks to God for putting this wonderful human being on my path, and to Valeriano not only for accepting my invitation but also for allowing me to reaffirm myself and be aware of my great passion, which is writing.

Tools to improve your quality of life

Valeriano Tobón is a therapist with more than 37 years of experience, who is well-recognized as a speaker in countries such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Central America, Costa Rica, Honduras and some Central American countries.

He achieved outstanding space as a presidential adviser in the business, economic and political sectors. In the organizational area, he emphasizes three important values of the human being: awareness, commitment and change.

What is your main recommendation to achieve a better quality of life?

Live in the present. Live every minute. Be aware of what you do at all times, enjoy the shower, be present when you eat, when you walk, when you drive. This is living here and now. The human being is always trapped in pain, in the past, in what he did not do or in what he is going to do tomorrow.

What steps could we take to have a better quality of life?

The first step is to be consistent. We have lost consistency in our actions. We are not transparent with our actions and with our feelings. Quality of life begins with a congruence between what we think, say, feel and do.

How can I be in permanent connection with myself?

Becoming aware of the breath. Breathing slowly allows us to be aware of the reality of everyday life. Heart rate and anxiety levels drop. The human being breathes 14 or 18 times per minute, if we can get down to 6 or 7 breaths per minute, our brain will have a better quality of life. Our heart and our entire body is more powerful.

How to manage an optimal state of consciousness?

Living in the present, being aware of my breath, being consistent most of the time. One of the secrets is: I am self-referential, I watch myself, I observe myself, I patrol myself.

Observing each other is as if we were in intensive care all day. This is an exercise that I have been practicing for a long time, since I was 33 years old. Thanks to making many mistakes, I learned to be self-monitoring and to observe myself. I still make mistakes, but I am more aware that they are fewer and fewer.

86% of all my illnesses are
psycho-somatic:

Psycho: mind, thought, sadness, disappointment, loss of loved ones

Somatic: the body has memory, cell phones have memories in 1 year, 2 years, 3 years the disease appears

Quick questions to learn more about this experienced therapist and speaker.

A phrase you use frequently

The divine order of The divine order of God dwells in me.

A book you recommend

I have learned to be self-tI have learned to be self-taught and I have obtained the best teachings for my workshops, conferences, consultations and counseling by reading the book of my daily life every day

Can you expand on this concept? In order to read the book of my own life, it is necessary to be awake. This generates a frequency of more consciousness and leads me to states of not lying or justifying myself.

Are you hard on yourself?

I am not tough. Does it hurt me to be wrong? Yes! But I make my mistake more kindly when I accept that I was wrong.

Are you religious?

No, I try to be a practitioner

What is the difference between being religious and being a practitioner? The difference lies in the conviction of each of the ideologies and practices in my day to day to live in a divine dimension and be a better version of myself.

What do you think is the secret of each religion?

I learned in my personal concept, that the secret of each religion is to release the God of love that is in me, accompanied by forgiveness and compassion for the other.

What does Easter mean to you?

Holy Week is the whole year, it is the whole life. It is a permanent life commitment.

Suggestions to live all the time during Holy Week?

One day of the week you can fast by being silent.

Another day fast by not criticizing

Other day fast by forgiving, make it two ways.

One day talk with our partner and your children.

Another day of the week make your working day more friendly for you and for your environment.

What are the practices that sustained you during times of crisis?

For me God has been above all material things in this world, including my parents, my children, my siblings, my grandchildren and my partner.

Never in any case did I lose my faith, this always kept me firm. Accompanied by the most powerful tool that exists in me: prayer . I have felt that my faith sustains me.

As hard as the times I lived through were, for times when I had everything and in reality I had nothing, I attended my own funeral immensely alone. I cried my death many times. In my gray hours: God has always been. And in my defeats my ability to dream and fly with broken wings has been born.
